This doesn't look like an ape to me, it looks more likely to be some form of predator like a feline or canine.

well, it was displayed within the ape house, that much I am certain of. There's tons of different types of apes as well, so might just be one that is more the size of a cat or dog

This is an ape? I think it looks similar toa big cat or maybe a bear. Apes has not that tipe of orbital bone... it is usually a complete circle, not interrumpted like un carnivores...

I took the photo at the zoo, and as far as I can remember it said ape... but I've wondered about the odd shape, too
