Wow. Beautiful separation between background and the character; especially arround the hips. The separation between the hair and face is also superb... I would have been super freaked out about getting red into the face all the time. I'm intrigues by the blooming arround some of the hair strands though... was it on purpose?

Yes, that effect around the hair strands was done on purpose. It was done with a non-waterproof red liner.
