such textured works can never be captured in a photograph
simply because the perspective at which it is viewed and the direction of the light change it so much
photography, print and the screen are primarily two dimensional
but there is always video, i have seen many really impressive photos of paintings but never videos which are really moody and creative, i guess that music would help there
photographically, the light is all important and daylight to me always seems best around dusk and in september and october
also light herself is a painter and photographers can creatively capture the greater contrast of the shadows which the painter didn't paint
in my view, when photographed the painting becomes a photograph and ceases to be purely a painting. This will continue until we perfect true 3D imaging.
PS i like this style of painting. It connects the texture of urban decay with the tradition of landscape painting.
It has special meaning for those urbanites who rarely get to see the horizon. And find some comfort staring at walls rather than into the openness of space.

temporary spray on hair color which comes in cans and various bight colors... I prefer the orange.

I think it looks terrific the way it is, but perhaps it's even more beautiful 'in the flesh' so to speak... My pics are absolutely horrible. I have been using my iPhone as don't have a decent camera, but really need to invest in one, I think

sure... most of the texture in this piece is the result of multiple layers of texture white applied with a palette knife, the painting was worked and reworked in between the textured layers. seems pretty simple and straightforward but that's pretty much how it came about.

It seems that the Dream die in silence...
(Is there a red touch down the canvas or the photo produces this effect?)
Stunning

they usually do, I think...
and yes, there is a slightly red or orange strip along the bottom edge, which is actually temporary spray on hair coloring... I have no idea how long it may last or if it will fade over time. I know I cannot spray or brush any type of clear coat over it as it will diminish the quality of color. guess I'll have to wait and see about how permanent it may or may not be on a painting...
