A new character, Nhuybu, who has been haunting me for a couple weeks now. He's based off a Sumatran tiger (if you couldn't tell from the fluff).

Story: Nhuybu walked through the cool, blue forest, his massive paws sinking slightly with every step he took in the waterlogged ground. Twinkling lights floated around him, the remnants of the spirits much older than himself that had faded into a much less demanding, and consequently much more peaceful, existence. Dancing around him, swirling between his legs, and circling his torso were larger spirits, spirits who were either not as old or had only recently let go of their full forms. Unlike Nhuybu. He couldn't figure out how to move on, how to let go. He was trapped in the Realm of the Dead without an out.

The trees he passed under were entirely barren, just as dead as himself. Never in his millennium of wandering had he ever seen a leaf, bud, or fruit on any of them. Save for the starlike spirits, with the occasional eidolon like himself, he was alone in the never changing Rhew Woods. Looking around at his all-too-familiar surroundings, the giant tiger eidolon yawned and then laid down, draped over the exposed roots of a tree. He rested his head against his paws, but as he closed his multicolored eyes, sleep evaded him, same as it had the last thousand or so years.

But just because he couldn't sleep didn't mean he couldn't dream. Anea's face appeared, her gorgeous burgundy striped black coat gleaming beneath a full moon that no longer shined. A sound that could be akin to a purr vibrated in his throat before it was muffled by the next part of his 'dream.' It always ended this way, in a confused mess that left her dead in front of him, crimson eyes staring sightlessly past him before it all went black.

That wan't how his life had ended, though, so he didn't know why that was what he saw. He told himself that she had been alright and lived long past his years, but the dream-images haunted him all the same. He had died with her close, but he had been the first to go… hadn't he? Perhaps after all these years he had gotten confused?

Shaking his head, Nhuybu raised to his paws and let out a roar that echoed through the trees and took off at a run. He swerved around the trees without really seeing them, knowing their location from memory. The blues of the Rhew whirled around him, but then a flash of color appeared at the roots of a tree that brought him to a stop. The eidolon cautiously retraced his steps to find an adolescent tiger. Her fur was long, though shorter than his own, and in shades of pink and purple.

Not to mention the fact that she was very much alive, yet here she stood, in the Realm of the Dead.
