   My name is Azure, and I'm one of those typical canine pets. A special one actually; I'm a wolf. I thrive on many things, but not love.

  Love is my enemy.

   I like my trainer, Max. I am loyal to him but I will not let any other living "pet" get in my way. They are pathetic, useless, and they do not deserve merciless homes.

"Azure!" Max calls my name. "Time to feast."

   It's my feasting time. I like what he calls it, it makes me feel like the malicious creature I am. As I dug into the raw deer meat, ripping apart the bloody muscle with my powerful jaws, I hear a whimper. Pitiful kittens, I thought. Max goes outside. What is he doing? He can't be helping that pest.

"Awe, poor little kitten," I hear Max whisper. "Do you need help? I'll take you in." He isn't talking like he normally does.

What?! I ditch my meal and take strong leaps over all the furniture, finally landing just inside the front door. "Maximus!" I bark. He probably doesn't understand me, but he knows when I don't want anything else in our house. It's only the two of us. No one else.

He knows I hate other animals. He has never done this before. Has he changed? What is wrong with him? I glare into the tiny, black eyes of the kitten.

Black. It's soul is black. It's the cat. I must get it away from here!

"Maximus," I growl, "put the kitten down at once."

The kitten throws me a quick, poisonous gaze, then goes back to whimpering.

"Azure, Azure. Just look how adorable she is!" He hates kittens. I know everything about him.

The cat seems so innocent. Injured, abused, acting like everything bad has happened to it..

It is perfectly fine. Perfectly guilty.

Max brings her inside, pushing past me like I'm not even there. He cooed at the cat likes its a little child. She purrs as he strokes her orange and white fur. He doesn't put her down for hours, and he is wide awake until late into the night. He has a job, he has a life, and people are probably wondering about him. Something is wrong. I just need to get that cat alone. I'm the only animal here.

Finally, Max went to bed and actually left the baby cat alone. The kitten jumped all over the furniture as I watched from the corner. She raked her claws down the curtains, leaving dark green slime.

Suddenly, just as it looks at me with those pure black eyes, I couldn't breathe. My heart skips a beat, then it pulses quickly. My vision blurs, then everything stops.

I launch, over the small table in the middle of the room and right toward that demon. Suddenly, time freezes. The kitten moves normally, like its the only thing in the universe. It comes toward me, slowly, stalking my soul. It reveals its claws. Long, sliver-like black blades. It uses its razors and glides on my floating body, across my exposed underbelly. Help.

The demonic kitten's claws sliced open my body, so gruesome because of the sudden slow-motion of the world. My own blood, glittering in the light shining in from the windows, undulates out of me. It falls slowly, disgustingly, to the floor, and I realize... I'm dead.

In the last few moments of my life, I see the demon enter my owner's dark bedroom, and a fabric-like ripping as the demon harms Max. He runs out of the room, still in the painful slow-motion, and trips over a nonexistent object. He falls to the ground, and during that slow time, the demon slashes his face in half.

No one is alive anymore.
