Description Tonight (23rd October 2012) marks an end of a UK television era as the digital switch-over in Ireland (both Northern and Republic of) spells the end of the wavy line for Analogue TV in the British Isles, and with it Teletext.

So may I present to you, as a tribute to the internet's oldest counterpart, my first piece of teletext art on dA. A gravestone for the BBC's teletext service Ceefax and it's first editor Colin McIntyre who passed away earlier this year aged 85.

My memories of Teletext? Well Bamboozle (remember that on Channel 4 teletext, NOT Ceefax as some people say!), pixelated weather maps, and the latest sports scoresas it happens, not forgetting watching Pages on Ceefax before the chrildrens TV shows begin on BBC 2.

So RIP Ceefax, and while you at it, Say hi to ORACLE, Teletext, 4-Tel and the like!

I used a Windows based Teletext editor called Cebra Teletext. It can be found here.

Anyway, thanks for your appreciation for this, even though I haven't planned any teletext art for the foreseeable future.

No. You just install the software. It is a .zip file so you need to unpack the files before you install it.
