it's been a long time since I've posted any new artwork. my day job has been taking all of my creative energy to where I have nothing left to devote to my artwork. I was reading some of my old x-men comics from the 90's and got inspired by the beautiful works of jim lee. so I drew this piece using some of his works as reference, something I don't do much anymore but I drew this piece purely for fun not worrying about anatomy or anything else. its been awhile since I posted a black and white piece featuring my inking skills but thought it would be fun to show off what I've learned. this piece was inked with prisma color liners. hope you like. color version hopefully will be coming soon!Related content

Your shading and black fills are excellent, although I'd recommend taking some more time to work on your head proportions. Β Other than that, great job, though.

I really like this piece, excellent inking skills! Adding shade effect with ink can be difficult, but I love how smooth and detailed it looks with just ink! Great job ^o^

I think this is really impressive! Β Doing just one portrait is difficult enough, never mind a whole group of portraits! Β I really applaud you in getting the facial proportions and placement quite accurately. Β There are some slight things like the face of the guy on the bottom right being a bit wide but that's besides the point. Β Also, you really captured all the details so well! Β All the hair, the cross hatching, it's really exquisite. Β I think however in the midst of all the details, things can get easily lost. Β Since you have a good use of line and cross hatching, I think you could use that to your advantage and fade some characters out and bring them back a little. Β Great piece!! Β

I think since the last time I took a look at your works, you have improved.Β It seems that your inking has become better and it looks very clean. Then it feels like there is more control over the larger inked in areas like on Beast's chest.Β You have some good contrast in certain areas, like with Cyclops blacks against psylocke's whites; but I have to agree with Akraisel's reasoning on spacing them out. However, that's a little hard to do, if they are in a team photo.

Looks pretty nice. The inking is clean and crisp. The hair looks particularly well done. Compositionally, I'd prefer if they were spaced a bit further apart - because it's all black and white, all the figures blend together. Otherwise, nice work
