Just an idea. Legend of Korra: Book- Blue Fire. I don't plan on writing a fanfic or drawing a comic unfortunately so here's the gist of it. (Set 1 year after book 4).
After Avatar Korra declared a new age of coexistence between humans and spirits between both worlds a time of innovation and rebuilding had begun. Yet this new era was not to come in peace.
It began when an unwary group of geologists studying the lands of the spirit world blundered too deep into the Blue Dragon's Valley. It is a fearful place and even the largest spirits walk its hills with trepidation, for an age old fury had taken temporary refuge in these lands and with the help of the oblivious intruders. She found her way back.
Setting foot on the icy material world for the first time in decades, Azula carved a path of destruction through the Southern Water Tribe. With her already legendary firebending prowess increased five fold during her lost days Azula easily outmatched the Southern waterbenders and even defeated Katara, her ancient foe. Though she had Katara at her mercy Azula spared the elderly woman stating she wanted her to live to see the peaceful world the former Avatar created to kneel at her feet.
Many battles and conflicts followed but it was in the North Pole where the climax of this Book was set, Korra spotted the source of the heat and plunged into battle with Azula. The ensuing confrontation brought on lightning thunderstorms and fissions, such was the magnitude that a great chasm split the pole threatening to melt, it was all well and good for Azula for she would rule the world or watch it burn… flood.
The fight lasted the better part of an hour until both benders were exhausted and spent, finally in an attempt to finish the battle Korra threw herself headfirst at Azula, locking hands Korra dragged Azula into the water where the former princess's firebending amounts to nothing. It was a near fatal maneuvour for Azula would not allow a second defeat twice in the same manner.
A massive explosion brought water a hundred feet into the air. Korra herself narrowly escaped the point blank lightning attack, Azula however laid battered and defeated.
For a short moment the Avatar looked upon the former princess's broken form thoughtfully, then she did what many wouldn't have the courage to perform. Korra not only answered the Firelord's plea to spare Azula but also chose not to take away her bending believing it would only further Azula's resentment to the Avatar and the world and instead healed the former princess.
Unrepentent but complient Azula disappeared to the mountains of the Firenation.
And so concludes another saga in the legend of Korra and for a change the Southern water tribe is helping the Northern tribe rebuild.
But a new enemy has awoken and the Avatar will need all the help of her friends to overcome.
