a drawing i did of ulquiorra and alternate yugana(arrancar yugana) as humans.

backstory: yugana and ulquiorra were best friends as humans. ulquiorra had a tendency to be suicidal being as he was often beaten up by bullies at their school. yugana was also treated badly at school but preferred to look at the lighter side of life. they first met in middle school. ulquiorra had been cornered by some bullies and yugana had tried to chase them off. only to have them turn on her. but working together both she and ulquiorra managed to make them go away. they quickly became friends and remained so for the rest of their lives. ulquiorra being prone to attempt suicide, basically had to rely on yugana to remind him that he had a life worth living but that didn't stop him from attempting it. one day after having to deal with bullies yet again he tried to commit suicide by jumping of the bridge that he and yugana would always hang out at. yugana had been gone for a month visiting family and was just driving by when she spotted him standing on the railing preparing to jump into the shallow river below. she managed to pull over and grab his wrist just moments after he had jumped. however once he was safe from falling she was unable to hold onto the railing any longer and fell into the river, dying on impact with the sharp rocks below. later the ambulance arrived to retrieve her and told ulquiorra that he was lucky to have had such a friend. but ulquiorra, devastated by the death of his only friend did not seem to hear them. the next day he commited suicide and yugana, still watching over him even as a spirit was forced to watch him plunge a knife into his chest, helpless to stop him. in her turmoil at watching her best friend die despite her efforts to save him. she ripped the chain from her chest and transformed into a hollow. ulquiorra having died with emptiness and despair in his heart also quickly ripped the chain from his chest. transforming into a hollow as well. eventually both of them ended up in hueco mundo but they did not see each other again until yugana was recruited into the ranks of the espada.
