This is fully © Fantasy Flight Games 2005 for their trading card game.This is finished but I am not sure yet if I am allowed to post the original before the release of the new expansion. However I can show you some closeups and cutous of the actual piece. This will get downsized to Gaming Card Size (that means pretty small). Done in 1.5 days (since it is a tight deadline).
Original size I was working at in Photoshop: 4.2 x 6 inches at 300 dpi
I will post the pencil sketch as well as soon as I have the ok to post the finished painting.

I dont play the game but the books are awesome! I think I remember seeing an early version of this a while back but I must say you did a great job of portraying John.
This is almost an exact mental snapshot of one of the last glimpses of John in the 3rd book (Clash of Kings) with Ghost, his Direwolf, and Mormont's crow.
Excellent detail on the sword pommel as well.

I am a bit proud of myself to finally branch away from my "save" subjects.
They did contact me directly and asked if I would be interested to do illustrations.

As a total ASOIAF freak I can tell you that the color scheme suits perfectly the character of Jon Snow... but I'm sure you know that already!

it's a great thing to get the approval of a real fan
His face did cause me some headaches..since he is like hmm 14 at the beginning und 16 at the end..however he goes through a lot and I guess his adventures and the climate left their traces..
I hope I get the ok to share the finished painting soon

Looks great, Tascha, especially since you were working that tight to deadline and at only 200% of the reproduction size. One of the things I like about working digital over traditional is that 200% at 300 ppi gives you room for fine detail.

What size of canvas do you usually work in? And always 300dpi? You're a true talent!!
