The first illustration of a series of seven for a school project.

We were asked to search for a place, any place, in 500 meter radius around college and create something from that. I chose the old and empty window of a shop and decided to come up a story about how it came to be.

Whenever we walk around town, we see abandoned houses, covered-up windows, broken doors, and never really think that that empty space, that seems so insignificant to us, was once very important in somebody's life. It's like when you visit the place you used to play at when you were a child - it means the world yo you, even though nobody else can see it.

So this is the story of this window, and all the stories that were interwined with it.

When I say it like that, it actually seems like it's a totally awesome project. xD Each of the illustrations took aboout 7-9 hours to make. I didn't really time them.

Anyway, no1. It symbolizes the birth of the shop, and therefore of the window, because every time someone risks opening up a store, it's because the have a dream, an idea, goals to achieve. It's the beginning of an adventure.
