Description The interior ceiling of the "hall of mirrors" in my Versailles-inspired house that I'm building. I used the principles that I learned building the dome ([link] ) to do this.

All of the stone and cobblestone is mined/obtained legitimately. This is on my server so the glowstone is, obviously, gifted by the server admin (even if it was single player, obtaining that much glowstone is difficult if not impossible.), and so was the glass. I like my buildings to have a lot of light, so I build a lot of ceilings out of glass. I was kind of bored of that, so I went with glowstone this time because I was hoping I'd get to skip lighting the interior with something. Not so much (that actually really annoys me about the lighting engine. I've got a ceiling full of lvl 15 lighted stuff, huge windows, and I still have to plop a bunch of torches down to see anything. W. T. F).

In progress shots and a shot of the shape of one of the glowstone portions can be found in my gallery. I'll post the rest of the house when it's done, but I like this too much to not share it now.

Very nice. I approve. I'm thinking I may do something similar for Panecitta when I get back to work on that.

Maybe in the Citadel..

I've been looking through your gallery, and you have some awesome stuff in there. I'm really impressed by the scale and the detail.

I'll tell you, when I'm done with the rest of that house, I'm going to be covering the outside of the inner ceiling with a glass pitched roof, that way it can be used as a sort of outside balcony area. I can take more detailed shots if you want to see the pattern better.

That would be awesome if you could. I would appreciate it. Maybe it would give me some inspiration to go back to building again, lol.

Sure, do you have an email address I can send them to so I don't have to upload them to DA?

Yeah, sure. If only I could remember how to send private messages on DA. XD

why can't I build awsome stuff like this? all I can build are things that slowly kill the human race. I even made a nuclear missle silo for god's sake!

Hmmm...I dunno. I get a lot of my ideas from stuff I look at. On DA, or from impressive RL architecture. I think my next one is going to be of a floor plan that I found of a cathedral...so maybe you could google some floorplans and then try and replicate them in minecraft's weird 1x1m square no round edges universe.

It also probably helps that I play on peaceful mode, so my stuff doesn't get blown up by creepers randomly. ~~

good idea. and my stuff rarely gets attacked. FUNNY MOMENT!!! I had finished an oil derrick and decided to stuff a cave full of TNT next to it. when I set it off, 3 stray blocks flew onto the rig and exploded. I then put a sign on the rig that said "Property of British Petroleum"

Hahaha...nice. Too bad you couldn't add some black water to the top or something....

It's Frenden: [link]

For the water to appear the correct color, it needs to be patched with Xau's patcher. If you use the "test minecraft" from the application afterwards to try and login to the server, it won't work because the tester doesn't make you login to minecraft, so use your actual minecraft launcher afterwards.
