New Painting- done last night, and touched up today. Another painting of "Ophelia" from Shakespeare's Hamlet.Acrylic Paint on A3 paper

This piece is very mesmerising and draws you in as the brush strokes you have used for the water is very soft and dream like and so engages you. The hair on her is spectacular as you have managed to capture the essence of it both above and below the water without loosing any sense of colour. There is only one criticism of this painting and it is that the eye is just a bit too big, you've extended the eyelash line a bit too far and it's a bit low in comparison to the rest of the face but it doesn't ruin the painting in any way so don't worry about it. The flowers surrounding the face have very nice, contrasting colours however with just a little bit of work on them they could look a bit more realistic. The only thing that makes them seem not a realistic is the black lines on them that make them stand out, whether this effect is intended or not, it looks quite nice and almost makes the painting a bit more dreamy. The light that hits the water is very nicely portrayed and is very beautiful. Overall this piece is very good and very beautiful, well done.

You have obviously been influences by the Millais Ophelia, but have created your own slant on the image with an almost psychadelic take. I really like this.
