I promised to start submitting my pokemon! Here are the first, a dual-forme ghost line.Paint forme;
Ghost type
Only male
"Weak spirits that require a vessel to exist. They cling onto objects they can find and hide in them, often to reappear and scare people."
Mirror forme;
Ghost/Steel type
Only female
"They are said to be born from women who obsessed with their beauty. Staring into mirrors they eventually lost their soul and it became a pokemon."
These will both be evolving once.
Name suggestions appreciated.

Vanitom (Vanity+phantom) sounds like a good name.
No matter what name you do choose, though, this is a really neat concept. One suggestion though; the Paint forme should be grass/ghost, since they have wood or paper artwork, and a wooden frame.

Pingolum or Spectungo both derived from the Latin for Paint (Pingo) and Mirror (Speculum) apart from Spectungo I added Spectre to that because their Ghost Pokemon. I think Spectungo sounds pretty cool

So cute and cool!! Though I don't think it exactly makes sense for the female version to have an extra type.
I think for a name..... I'm not sure. Though I think the beginng part of the name should contain part of the word "portrait". Like "Portrale" or something. I dunno. Whatever you decide on comparing people's comments. It's your Pokemon.

Isn't this more of a gender difference, rather then a forme? A pokemon with more then one forme can change to and from them, almost freely, can't they? These pokemon can't change back and forth. (unless you have a gender swapper up your sleeve) If I were you, I'd make these two different pokemon, like the Nidoking and Nidoqueen lines. Or at least not call them "forme."
As for the designs, I think they are very well done. I'm sorry, but I have no name ideas. :<

Not all pokemon can change between formes. Take the new pokemon Basurao for example - they have two separate formes that cannot switch between each other. I just happened to make mine gender exclusive that's all.
I considered it, but I thought in the end I preffered a that they be formes.

Having to do with both being a physical depiction of a human and then also being entranced within themselves? Playing off of portrait and trance/
Framan- since they're both enclosed within a frame, and both (I'm assuming) were originally human, or so is implied.
Simple yet refined designs... but they seem almost too simple or even generic, but again, I suppose that sort of comment without a suggestion isn't very helpful. I do like the smoke being purple, as it sort of connects the two opposing colors.

I wanted to keep them simple like the first gen, but they will grow in complexity when they evolve. Ghosts and spirits are usually depicted as quite simple beings, shapeless with a face.

Oh, so they do evolve? That's awesome. Correct me if I'm wrong, or just don't say anything, but I'm predicting succubus' and incubus'. Both being gender specific spirits that revolve around selfish indulgence of some sort!
