Man, this is really stunning! You've got a lot of things going for you here, I think. The focus is great obviously but the cattail also jumps out as the most brown in one area. At the same time it doesn't look out of place because there's hints of brown in the background. While I'm on about colours, I LOVE the saturation in this one - Did you edit anything or was it actually this vibrant? It's very eye catching! I also love the.. movement (? for lack of a better word) in that everything is vertical though not so rigid.. if that makes sense. :'D
Had to comment on this because I immediately had something to say. I will hopefully, during the winter break, get around to providing some feedback for some of your other wonderful photographs! Keep up the great work, Kyle!

On the saturation, this scene was very vibrant when I took it. I shoot in RAW however, which automatically subdues the colors (but still records them, in greater detail than JPEG). As a result, I had to edit it to bring it back up to what it was in real life, and I probably bumped it up a bit more as well (all photos lie in some way), but it definitely was near that color.
