I can put plates and insurance on anything that has a title.

In Alberta everytime a vehicle over 15 years (or went through Out Of Province inspections within 15 years) has to get inspected when it meets a new owner, and whether or not those inspections were legit I don't know :/

Looks like a lot of body work, just looking at those rocker panels.

Bet you if you sat inside the thing, you'd fall out through the floor⦠that rust on the sills looks extremely hazardous.

About when this car was new, I saw a 1947 Lincoln Continental convertible in a Waikiki used car lot for $1295. It was in pretty good shape except that someone had painted the chrome with silver paint to hide the salt-air corrosion. It stayed on that lot for a while, I remember.

For a car, $1500 isn't a lot of money.

It is actually, here in Alberta, if your car is older than 20 years, it has to go for a mandatory inspection and usually will be slapped with thousands of dollars worth in repairs. Plus this car has so much rust that it wouldn't even come close to passing inspection. If this car didn't have so much rust I might actually have considered buying it myself.

Why did the rust lead you not to buy the car?

The rust is a factor in inspections, and if the rocker panel is so rotten it's not visible anymore then who knows what the rest of the car might look like.

Yeah. One time this nearby car dealership had an early-1960s T-Bird with a good exterior condition, but the seats were worn out.
