Description This was part of what I found in the first town I encountered in western Kansas during my recent trip to the Oklahoma Panhandle. This old Ford truck has been retired to a dusty lot on the outskirts of Campo, Kansas. There's not much in the area besides wheat fields and tumble weeds and many of these tired, old towns are dwindling into ghost towns.

I'm always amazed by the quality of your work!! The objects look so soft and detailed, I could swear you hand made the scene!! you're amazing at post processing as well! what kind of process do you add to your pictures?

I'm not near that good to hand make such a scene!

I have a tendency to lean towards a darker appearing photo in my work...meaning, I like to have a vignette to have a slight fade to black on the edges as well as a good amount of contrast mixed with a good vibrancy in my colors. In some shots, I desaturate the colors some (ie: [link] or [link] ). While in other shots, I simply try to get everything to be as close as possible to what the scene actually looked like, since cameras are nowhere near the quality that our actual eyes see the world. The darker, higher contrast accompanied by a good sky help sell the notion of drama within the picture. I also use the dodge and burn tools in photoshop to help with the highlights and shadows to provide more depth to the image. I guess it kind of depends on the picture and what's options are available. I shoot in RAW and use the RAW editor in photoshop to make most of my adjustments. I try to work fairly quickly, partly b/c I am not blessed with a lot of patience...

My dad had an old 54 Ford pickup when I was young and I think it made him sad when he gave it up...

Ha! Now you're building an expectation I'll have to meet! I'll at least get a couple here and there that won't be too fancy...
