Description In my past trips to the Denver Zoo (minus the last time I was there which was during September before my sister's wedding), there was a building that housed Lorikeet parrots that I didn't check out, one guests could come in and spend two dollars to feed them with nectar if they wanted too. I already did this and it was fun. These birds are actually very gentle and it's cool if they perch on your body and drink the nectar from there. Their talons don't hurt really. They just tickle a little. If it was a bird of prey like an eagle, hawk, or owl, then it would likely be a different story.

Nice shot! My husband and I fed these birds at a park in Florida. They were very loud but super fun, not like birds at all- more like feathered monkeys with funky brush tongues.

No kidding with the talons. I nearly got struck by a falcon's talons once. It swooped just inches above me. Luckily, it missed
