1684. Italy. Long waves of brown hair and beautiful porcelain skin strode into the plaza where Alec sat. Her name was Gianna. This time. Her lips were colored a bright red, and she wore a simple white gown. Alec thought she was trying to appear innocent. But that lipstick was her giveaway.
She pressed herself up against him. "Hello, Alec," she whispered.
"Gianna," he answered with a touch of sarcasm for himself.
1703. Germany. "Milla," he greeted. She had the same brown hair, cut shorter so that it fell about her shoulders. The color of her lips was still red, but she wasn't trying to appear innocent today. She knew what he liked by now. Her clothing matched her lips today. Alec liked the bloody color against her skin.
1840. Ireland. As she approached him, Alec did not recognize her at first. She had dyed her hair with henna so that she looked like one of the locals. She had also abandoned the red on her lips for a subtler pink. When she drew closer, he backed away.
"So it's Brigid now, is it?" he asked her.
She smiled. "Yeah, don't you like it?"
"Doesn't matter. What did you want?" Alec lazily stretched out on the stone wall.
Her smiled disappeared. It was clear he was not happy to see her. "You're still mad at me…"
1901. Maine. Alec watched the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean. The empty sight was so beautiful to him. She said she would never come to the new world. When they had first settled there all those years ago, she vowed never to leave Europe. So that's what he came here. But then… "Alec," a voice said behind him.
