Description I ran down the front steps of the school, headed for my bike. As I reached for my helmet, Blaze caught up with me.
“ Danyka!” he shouted, “Where are you going?”
I turned to see him sprinting towards me and replied, “I’m going to the library.”
“What do you need at the library?” he asked.
“Books,” I replied.
“Let me go with you,” he demanded.
I paused then asked, “Won’t you be bored?”
“Well, if I’m with you,” he said, “I won’t be.”
So I let him come. We went in his car, actually, and he pretended to be excited.
“So,” he began enthusiastically, “why are we going to the library?”
“We are going because you begged me to let you come,” I said, “I am going because I have research to do.”
“Sounds…exciting.” He paused. “How long is this going to take?”
I sighed, “You don’t have to stay. I’ll walk home.”
“No you won’t!” He was utterly offended by this.
“The silence is killing me!” Blaze groaned once we got there.
“I told you you’d be bored,” I said matter-of-factly.
“When are we leaving?” he asked for the millionth time.
“You can leave any time you want,” I answered. “But I have more research to do.”
“Then how will you get home?” he inquired. “I have the car.”
“I’ll walk,” I repeated.
He scoffed. “No you won’t. I’ll just…be patient."
