The candle is lit, and I let it burn.Its glow is warm so I revel in it.
The wax is melting rapidly.
I want to blow out the flame,
But you stop me every time.
I take the candle home and blow it out there.
Yet when I see you again,
You light it one more time, and I let it burn.
revel in its warmth again, feeling shame for doing so.
And it is getting harder
To blow out the flame.
A puddle of wax now…
…it cannot survive…
I must blow out the flame soon
For, anyway, it will die in time.
Once more I take it home and blow it out there.
Once more feeling shame for doing so.
Whence we meet again,
You light it one more time, and I let it burn.
I cannot revel in its warmth
For I know, it soon will die,
And I will blow it out one last time.
