Seth had an absentee mother and father. Life was generally rough on the Lanier Islands, and his parents would be gone for long periods of time in search of money or food. Eventually, they both stopped coming home one day. Seth is unsure whether they just abandoned him, or ended up dead. Either way, he was on his own now, and had to find a way to take care of himself.
One day, he came across a band of mercenaries temporarily resting in the area, assisting in protecting people from the criminals. Joining the mercenaries meant a place to sleep and food to eat. This was where he met Luca. The two easily connected, being close to age, and from similar situations. After Luca left to join Team Paladins, Seth followed as well.

Helping others in a rescue team didn't sound like a bad idea. Before, he simply fought for whoever would pay him the best. Joining a rescue team actually would give him a purpose in what he does. Not to mention stable employment and a stable place to stay. No more wandering and living on the road. His experience would make him a valuable member of a rescue team. It took him a while to warm up to the idea, but it ultimately felt like an all around great opportunity. Maybe this place could be his new home, and this team could be his new family.

Team Paladins was made up of a rag tag group of people with big dreams. It wasn't too different from a mercenary group. At least these people were all generous and kind, while mercenaries tended not to be.
