Pionpi - Mario Redesign

This one is based upon the Pionpi, a largely forgotten enemy from the largely forgotten game Super Mario Land for the original Game Boy. The game’s sprites didn’t give much to work with, and the game has very little official art, so I did some research on the pionpi’s origins. Turns out they are based on the Jianshi, a zombie/ghoul/vampire hybrid from Chinese folklore.

So anyways, here is the Pionpi enemy from Mario Land, presented with a realism/anime art blend. Enjoy!
