Description What a convenient spot for a scene change!

I admit I could have done the framing alittle better. For example actually showing Vivian in the third panel to establish that she's pushing the wheelchair. Or even drawing the more of the wheelchair so it looks like he's in one.

ah well

I like! And not just because it has my favorite number.

I was wondering if there'd be any psychic backwash going on there...

Whhhaaaat? That's a wheelchair? O_0

Lol XD

You should make sure all the human characters are wearing different-looking clothes. It'll make it easier to differentiate between them on the fly. In black and white, they look too similar, Brian and Raijal.

Raijal's wearing a shirt, Brian wears a vest. Slightly hard to see that here, though. And I figured the differences in hairstyles and shape of their faces would be enough. Maybe I'm wrong?

I'll be honest, until I read Brian's quote where he actually said Raijal's name, I didn't see any difference (Of course, after that it was obvious). I know their hairstyles are different, however, from the front, it is slightly more difficult to see that. Of course, Brian and Raijal's relative absence to the strip lately may have also contributed to that.

Maybe I'm just being picky, but I imagine it would be a slight bit better if it was easier to immediately know who's who without reading anything at first...(Possibly some designs on their shirts that are different) And I still think personalizing the quote brackets a little more for the individual characters would help (If not the brackets, maybe the font?). I mean you're very close with this... It's just a few adjustments here and there to the technique could refine this quite a bit.

The problem with altering anything with the text would be that it would make the comic look unruly. If the font wasn't uniform then too much would be going on and it'd make things look more muddled than they already are. I've tried speech bubbles but it's difficult to do that with such limited space.

As for costumes, I've stopped filling in the darker colors which I probably shouldn't have. Raijal wears a darker shirt and his hair is dark, too, so if I had, you might have had an easier time telling the difference.

Thanks for the pointers, though, I'll keep them in mind. To be honest I've been thinking the five panel strip format is far too restricting lately, I might just ditch it.

Hmmm, you might want to plot the storyline into little 'sub-chapters' that will fit on to an 8x11in page-sized area (sort of like you battle scenes) and release them once to a few times a week then, instead of several (sometimes somewhat inconclusive) strips a day.

I can see what you mean about the five panels 'cramping' the progress of your storyline. It seems too little is happening at any one given time and there is so much left to do.

Well I could do it one of two ways. I can switch to a freeform format like in the battle scenes, or I can keep the square panels and just stack them on top of each other. So like this, but having several rows instead of just one. Doing it the first way will have far more freedom but the second way will allow for more content but still keep the battle pages 'unique'. It's a toss-up right now.

Heck, I think the free-form style should be preserved for the battle scenes, personally. It outlines the inherent chaos feeling of such a situation more effectively.

Yes I agree. I'll do a multirow comic next week and see what happens. Classes start next week though, so I might only do one. Depending on how my schedule plays out
