Description There was nothing better than being able to head out into the nearby wilderness away from his family. He had been walking half a day to get this far away, but he was sick and tired of his cousins following him around. 'Dieeem why is your hair so dark. Dieeem, why are you so short. Dieeem, why are your eyes so weird.' That last one especially got to him. He hated how his golden eyes stood out so much against his darker features. More than once he had asked his parents for colored contacts, even as a birthday present, but had no such luck. They were an unneeeecessary expense. As if that new embedded vase was a necessary expense. He'll simply go out and make his own money then! They won't have anything to complain about if he gets the contacts through his own efforts.
There were always plenty of shops in town looking for certain berries, herbs, and even animal meats. All he had to do was gather enough to make a pretty penny. "What if they don't want whatever we bring them?" Glancing up, Diem's dragon Malice was attached to his head, a constant companion that had recently hatched a few days ago. "Then we'll just have to ask them what they're looking for." It'd be a better idea to ask them -before- they had come out here together, but the dark haired rider had simply wanted to get out of there before he did something that would displease his family. Shoving one of his cousins into the dirt was probably on that list. Probably. But he didn't want to find out the true answer to that. "Stop thinking about them." Malice huffed, wiggling to and fro on top of him so that he wobbled back and forth. "Ack, knock it off, I don't have my tail to keep me balanced. It's not that easy, they keep calling me weird..!" At least she settled down enough to give him a break as they went along.

And soon Diem and Ryou were acquainted by the blue flier mistaking him for a bear and zooming at him full force. Diem was fine in the end, and Ryou ended up taking him back home to rest for the rest of the day.
The real bear was eventually captured.
Plus he probably put a non poisonous, but still gross and bitter berry on his cousin's plate for dinner.

Diem and Malice belong to me
and Ryou belongs to Tomboy-Kei
