I read on your journal what this person told you, about this drawing.
So, I think this girl is just imbecile who values her words more than they are. Really, you shouldn't feel depressed because of an idiot like that.
Sure, your drawing style is a bit clumsy, but no one was born with pencil in hand, life would be pointless if we had nothing to learn... It's the same for drawings. It took me two years to learn how to draw correctly, and this is because I draw a lot. Moreover, I still have some things to learn, my style is not perfect, I have to reinforce it.
You too, just think that you'll draw very well if you practice more.
Heck, I bet this girl's arts are awful. She either wasn't born with a pencil, and her arts must have been awful when she started drawing. Anyway, she's stupid.
Now, about your art. I like the way your draw and color the eyes and the lips! Now, try to focuse on anatomy and body proportions. You can search for some tutorials, and practise, it'll help you a lot! And sometimes, you can ignore body proportions, like when you draw chibis, like this one. In mangas/animes, the body proportions are special, but they're close to the human proportions.
I know this girl sent her comment awhile ago, but I really wante to say someting about it. Because I hate people who tell other their drawings are ugly, not even thinking if they may be hurt... I'm sure she'd be offended if someone told her she drew like an 8-year-old-child.
And eight-year-old children don't draw like that... She's dumb or what? -_-
I hope you'll never give up on drawing, because you could draw very well, you already have the bases!

LOL When I saw she left that comment, I went right to her profile and told her that she had some nerve leaving a comment like that, and to think how she'd feel if someone told HER that her art looked like it was drawn by an 8 year old. And I added "Well since you know so much about artwork, just tell people HOW to improve instead of saying "You draw like a child."" I gave an example about hand proportions......and she just allowed me to win the argument. "You know so much, why don't YOU help her instead?" she said.
Needless to say, I'd never felt so victorious.

Haha! I was her, I'd feel so ashamed I'd hide my heard in a paper bag. Really, it's just like flames: the flamers leave pointless reviews that mean nothing, that degrade, that insult, instead of gibing tips to make the person improve.
That girl is really dumb.

The majority of the stuff in her gallery was paintings, but they didn't look that great because she puts shine in them (which is actually BAD for paintings, lol).
I'm doing the very best I can when it comes to drawing and the fact that I don't get that much attention or appreciation for it that bothers me at times. Sometimes I also find myself wishing I could be like some of the REALLY, REALLY good artists on here and I wind up getting discouraged....
