Meet Snowy Granite, Kyu's father, and the husband of Whispering Willow.

Family: The Flake lineage is a cursed lineage. Any filly born into the family inherits the curse. Any colts lose the curse after some time (explained in more detail below). Whispering Willow (Kyu's mother) and Snowy Granite (Kyu's father) still live together with Kyu, supporting her through the recent hardships until she marries.

Species: Pegasus Snowpony

Cutie Mark: Granite earned his Cutie Mark when patrolling the rough mountainside of Krystelletine as a young officer-in-training. With his uncanny ability to navigate through snowstorms, he was awarded a position as a local Ranger and Rescue worker. The Cutie Mark shows a tall granite mountain covered in snowy storms and icy rivers.

Past: Born into a poor family, Snowy Granite loved to play pranks to make up for his misfortune. He'd often go from town to town tormenting the local villagers with smoke bombs, sticky traps, and of course, adding salt to the water supplies. His family was poor, and was raised on the farm with four siblings; three Pegasi and an Earth Pony. His parents were both Pegasi with Earthen blood. As a family, they worked together to harvest crops to make a living. Due to the abundant minerals found in the mountainside, the soil provided a perfect area to farm the land. And with these rich soils, came bountiful crops. After 15 years of working the earth, Granite became tired of his daily routine. Escaping chores by flying away was the only luxury he had. It was during one of his escapes, he ran across a young mare stranded in the trees. Her feathers were torn out and disheveled, with obvious cuts to the shoulders, rump, and face. Helping the crashed young mare to the ground, Snowy found himself staring at her with interest. He'd never seen such a cute Pegasi before, especially a foreigner. The two became to get along, and often hung out with each other when they had the time. Snowy found himself working harder then ever to get time off from farmland to run out and see his new friend. Over the years, he began to develop feelings towards the Alicorn-like Pegasi. After graduating from the Officer's School of Law, Snowy Granite proposed to Whispering Willow. After two years of marriage, Willow became pregnant with their first foal, Tea Leaf. Two years later, they had another foal, Kyu. To this day, they live with their son and daughter, taking care of them until they move on and hopefully marry one day.

Background/Personality: Snowy Granite is a Snowpony that hails from northern Equestria, Krystelletine. Not only is it very cold, it snows and hails almost every other day. A masterful prankster in nature, Granite can't get enough of pranking others, and does so with a disturbing profession and accuracy. He is a master of the ways of the snowball, and can pelt unsuspecting ponies from a mile in the air with deadly precision. A strong flier, Snowy can outfly all but one of his siblings. He has more stamina than speed, and is skillful in storms and high winds.
Granite is kind and gentle, but to strangers, he seems a little rambunctious and strange. He has a playful attitude and rather positive most of the time.
