Description The POD is that the North Koreans were decisively defeated in the Korean War and Kim Il-Sung and loyalists have to flee to China and the USSR. Stalin offered Kim a homeland for the exiled Korean state and the Korean ASSR was born. It was held by Aleksey Hegai Β in 1956 until his death in 1978, in which the then aged Kim Il-Sung again assumed position until his death in 1990. He is known as a hardliner as in OTL but being in the USSR itself, he has no power to contradict Moscow's line though he did promise that once Korea becomes communist he will become leader again. But then having being beaten in the Korean War and fleeing to Russia would put a very big dent on your reputation.

The Korean ASSR became the Korean Republic, but distinguished as the "North Korea", to distinguish it from the peninsular nation ran by Seoul. Eventually the prefix "North" was added in 1995. Viktor Tsoi later became the Republic's president until his untimely death in 2000, which was speculated to be because many did not like his economic performance. Since 2000, Yuri Kim, also known as Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-Sun's son, ruled as President on behalf of the Communist Party, but was later expelled in 2002. He then joined the party founded by Vladimir Putin instead. Since Yuri Kim's death, his middle son Yuliy (also known as Jong-chul), becomes the Republic's president, his elder son Andrei (Jong-nam) becoming a film director like his father, his older sister Svetlana (Sul-song) ending up as a professor in Moscow State University, the younger son Valeriy (Jong-un) becoming a basketball player and later coach for a Chinese team, and his younger sister Yuliya (Yo-Jong) ended up becoming a K-pop singer in Korea, the only one living in the old homeland.

Very interesting timeline, here. Love that you kept Kim Jong-il's name "Yuri" (still amazes me). Mind if I ask where this ASSR is located in Russia? Not able to pinpoint the exact area.

Here is the exact location.

I may create a Karafuto Japanese Republic in Russia, soon. And a Romany and Ainu Autonomous Oblast as well.

So we give Mcarthur and the colombian battalion the order of 'pursuit'? if that pulled it they might have broke the korean line and make the beehive to ppyoang, a missed oportunity, and should be Korean Oblast in Russia but welll...
