A watercolor I did for my friend's sweet sixteen... I'm so poor. I make all of my friends presents. ^_^ I hope she likes it. Comments welcome, this is my first watercolor... and the whole thing didn't fit on the scanner either.Related content

This is just so exquisitely beautiful, I can't decide what part of it I love best, the hair is obviously wonderful.. the wings are so soft, the lines and color of the dress.. Ooo!! And the rose petals just add such a wonderful touch, Your friend is so lucky to get such a wonderful gift!

Beautiful use of the medium!! (And your first time using it?!)
Very nice - great lines, great movement in the composition. Overall a very lovely piece. I'd love anything like this as a present.

Very nicely done. I really like the watercolour effect and am experimenting with my own right now also. The way the ehole piece flows to the right is very nicely acheieved. Good work.

Such a nice use of the medium.. and it fits the drawing so well. The colour range is just superb.. probably the biggest attraction to this piece for me. I love how it's sorta rough and textured, but really delicate at the same time.

This is honestly one of the best watercolor pieces ive seen here. Its truley amazing. My friend , for someone whos never done watercolor before I suggest you do plenty more... Ever try Guash or Dr. Martins Die washes?

Amazing stuff.
The way the lines of the drawing don't exactly fit with the watercolors, and yet they work perfectly. Wonderful drawing, wonderful painting, and great style over-all. The hand seems a bit forced, but it doesn't detract from the whole effect. You make me sick in a good way.

i think making a gift for someone is the sweetest thing and i admire people who do it. since my sister passed away last month, i have actually sworn to myself to start making my own gifts as well as a tribute to her. my sister mari http://www.gunvictimsmemorial.org/ramos_ mari.shtml was very creative and intelligent and she made the gifts she gave, which made her gifts even more special. i loved how your art looked, but after reading your description, it just got even more endearing.
watercolor is the medium that i find tricky to master, and so i greatly admire those who are able to create beautiful stuff with it. the subtlety of the colors you played with, coupled with the grace that your "model" portrays make your painting a really sweet and enchanting piece of art.

Wow impressive, I wish I was recieving this as a gift The falling petals look nice, but a few of them are just refrences to petals, a nice touch. The hand needs a bit of work, as well as the biceps

beautiful amazing, i wish i could paint as good as you do. the hair, the wings, the color, its all perfect. definately going in my faves. I really like the water color style, and the way the colors dont match evenly with the lines and such, gives a really nice feel to the piece, not really a dirty feel, but just no so clean and crisp, and i think it suits the subject rather well, good show
