Sheena Fujibayashi from Tales of Symphonia.All right, so I discovered that Microsoft was giving away a consumer preview version of Windows 8 on their website. Even though it wasn't the completed version, I decided to download and install it so that I could install some Windows-only programs on my Mac. Thus, I was finally able to run Paint Tool Sai (with pen pressure) on my Mac using Boot Camp. For those of you wondering, by the way, Windows 8 is actually pretty nice; you just need to get used to the Windows Phone look. Also, on my Mac, Windows 8 actually seems to freeze at random (or, sometimes, when I begin downloading things). But it hardly freezes; most of the time it runs very smoothly and quickly. The only thing is that I lost my Mac installation disk so I have no way of installing the drivers necessary on my Windows partition...so no audio for me. :<
All of the sketching, line art, and coloring was done in Sai. Editing was done in Photoshop CS5.
Tools: Sai, Photoshop CS5, Painter Essentials 4 (for adding final texture), Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet.

i have to say amazing drawing, im a big fan of tale of symphonia and Sheena is a great character. Have you heard of the new tales that came out with all the tales series in one big game. it has all the characters from the tales series.

Really? I've heard of Tales of the World, but all of the other 'Tales of' crossover games have only been released in Japan.

I have yet to try out Windows 8... I'm satisfied with my Windows 7, and I have my doubts about 8... Hmmm, I'll wait and see what everyone else things of it.

Yeah, I'd say don't upgrade to Windows 8 yet. Windows 7 is already pretty great. I've just been waiting for the opportunity to get a Windows OS on my Mac; I didn't think I'd be able to get one for free (and legally too). Hehe. :3 But yes, thanks again.

What's funny is I have a disc (or a few actually) of Painter Essential lying around. I should probably load it and try it out before I forget (kinda like the time I forgot I had Photoshop Essentials). Yeah, but like you said, I hear it does lag at times. I don't know, having CS5, I feel like you should be able to pull off all those textures... I think it might just be too complicated to do compare to what other programs like Painter can pull off.

Yes, I'm sure there's a way to imitate those textures in CS5. I might need to look at the different filter settings, I think I saw something that adds textures of some kind. But I'll be honest, sometimes those filters over do it, hehe. I'm sure there are settings that can fix that. Other than the textures, though, there's not really any other reason for you to install Painter Essentials because you have Sai anyway. :>
