I remember I was in Tokyo some time like... Uh, I think about eight years ago and I rolled into toys r us and bought Cyborg Kuro Chan 2 on my game boy color. That game is a freaking blast.

It's sort of like Canabalt where you have a floating cursor that can shoot into the background while you dodge foreground objects. If you bring the crosshair below a certain point, you shoot straight ahead. Your character only stops running when you get to boss fights, which are more traditional side scrolling affairs. You have tons of equipment (Armor, guns, swords and grenades, etc). Figuring out the menus without Japanese language knowledge is tough, but the games fun regardless. Get a ROM
