His life is pretty sad. He was made to destroy Megaman. That's his only purpose, and yet he can't do even that.
I bet there comes a point when Wily doesn't even expect him to stand a chance against Megaman anymore.Β

I understand that, but then again Bass probably doesn't believe that Dr. Wily is going to be successful either.
I write fan fiction, and I have written a story where Bass finds a disabled robot. Due to curiosity and the philosophical processes of the broken bot, Bass transforms to take care of the bot instead of going after Mega Man due to the realization that his goal is impossible.
If a video game villain doesn't die (or is constantly revived) and loses continuously, I consider them tragic villain because they were created to lose repeatedly.
Another reason I feel for him is his loneliness, weak grip on sanity, and being removed by the newer and better pr0ducts.
