love me some "cultural fusion" like. don't suppose you could attempt this concept on architecture? As in, a Roman Fort/Villa mixed with a Medieval Castle?

This is what they should have done when designing the Legion for Skyrim. Perfectly catching the Roman feeling, and yet making the armour quintessentialy medieval, and still appearing to be very functional. I like how the red tunic is worn "Italian fashion" over the rerebraces.

I don't think it's very relevant but it would make me so overwhelmingly happy if you could let me know, ok.
1.- So, the different houses in the empire musters and commands their own armies or is it the empire as a whole the one that provides the troops and generals for the houses to outfit them to their liking, that and does the emperor has his own armed force separated from the Leo and Wolf garrisons or are they chosen from amongst the houses best fighters (If the emperor actually does)?
2.- Also, i noticed that the footmen are quite well equipped (Not including the Champions, Battlemages and Centurions) ,which i consider, must cost quite a lot of money/resources, so the imperial army is one of those few but elite kind of military organizations or they actually own like these massive armies of ironclads?
3.- I saw that there are this imperial noblemen from house Leo (Perhaps also Wolf), do they actually have some sort of influence within the empire and they can, for example, become generals or successors to the emperor, or perhaps they are just glorified chairmen?
4.- Last, which is exactly the chain of command within the empire, of course the emperor is on top but under him? How does that works with both house Leo and Wolf, being both like water and oil?

there really isnt any super set lore or anything. most of the inspiration comes from game of thrones and warhammer fantasy
1. each house musters and commands their own armies and equips them as they see fit.
2. house leo is the most wealthy house in the empire, and they devote a lot of their money into training and equipment for their troops
3. each house sends noblemen to the imperial court for political stuff.
4. the emperor loosely holds together all the houses and tries to keep the peace and unite them against greater outside threats. houses bicker and squabble all the time and skirmishes arent uncommon but there hasnt been a major civil war in awhile
actually not quite sure how the emperor maintains power. could have it so the emperor is simply the leader of the current house in power, and have a new emperor every time theres a big civil war or something. then the 'imperial' army would just be that houses troops. an alternative would be that the emperor be its own little house, kind of like how the vatican is just a tiny city state. the imperial army would be a levy of troops from all the houses. idk, like i said, i never really sat down to flesh things out.

You should really think about giving it some time, from a relatively small concept you have made a very awesome proto-universe, i just can't even fathom the amount of interesting characters, places and events that could snowball out of it, oh the possibilities. Don't know why, but when i see your house Leo designs this nickname: "The Rogue General", comes to my mind XD. Thanks for your time and for answering my questions, i know it was quite a lot but i got really excited for the lore you could have been cooking.

Magnificent as always, you've a wonderful depiction of a fully functional set of armor that isn't particularly flashy but draws the eye without question. I love it.

Hey, as someone relatively new to medieval armor, do you know what you call the red chest-shield thing that he's wearing on his left chest joint?

theres no exact real life counterpart, but the closest would be a mix of an ailette and a besagew

There is a sketch underneath 90% of the time, but usually during the painting process I see mistakes so I move things around.

I would love to see more houses and designs, maybe the house names and themes could be based on constellations (eg. Scorpio, Libra, Orion, Gemini, Capricorn etc.) Love the work keep it up!

Little things that I prefered before : simpler cheek guards, articulated cool-looking chest guard. It is certainly more realistic now, with the added inner space that you need to move and breathe, but i didn't mind the more fantasy-ish shape. I can't decide on the tassets, this design is so much more practical, but i just kinda liked the look fo the old ones, with the outward part like on the Living Legend drawing. Thing that I most definitely prefer now: everything else! From the leg guards to the arms to the bevor and the tassets. Dear god does all that look good to me. The shine finish of the armor is incredible.

I find my comment awfully negative, starting with bitching about what i like less. I want to emphasise, the new couters, vambraces and poleyns are absolutely awesome. I'm just a bit bothered by the less "heroic" (but that much more true to real life) shape of the cuirass.
