i saw some genderbent fireferrets stuff teh other day thought it was cute :3i think id bolin was a girl, she would be short and curvy while mako would be tall and slim
bolin was already my favorite character, this has just made me love him and her more!~

literally took my 5 minutes in sai, the actual sketch took me maybey... 30 minutes?
real simple, scanned it, cleaned it up, jacked with the hue and put a paper texture over it

I'm not great at it : P But I enjoy it, and I'm getting better at making costumes. Especially since I got an actual sewing machine. Handsewing costumes is annoying XD

It's not bad, and you feel a LOT more in control of how it goes (Sewing machines go so quick! A mistake is so easy to make!) but it does take more time and the costume isn't really machine wash safe.
You might not MAKE cosplays, but have you ever cosplayed? Commissioned one, or bought from a con or something?

I'm not exactly a stick over here XD I cosplay as characters I like, even if my body type aint perfect for it. Though fem Bolin is actually pretty damn close for me.
You should go to a con! They are a TONS of fun : ) Cosplaying makes it more fun imo.

And no no! Don't go as an artist for your first con, just go and take it all in : ) Trust me, I know some artists who've only had booths and feel like they're missing out.
Yeah, I cut my hair shorter in May for a cosplay : P But I like my hair shorter so it works. Actually, it's kinda cool but Fem Bolin's hair is rather exactly like mine, minus the curl in the front. : P
And it doesn't HAVE to be anime! Do anything nerdy- Adventure time, MLP FIM, do a random anthro pokemon, Disney, heck, STAR WARS. Or be a troll! An internet meme irl, it all works : 3

Well, it depends on what you are into. The big thing is wandering around and snapping ALL the pictures of epic cosplays! If you like voice actors, you should see who is going to be at the con and try and meet them. Oh they sometimes have J-pop bands there too, depending on how big the con is. There are panels, which is a group of people of like minds gathering together to "take" about their fandoms...XD Those can get quite heated. There's obviously the main dealer's room and artists' alley. Then there are random events that are unique to each convention sprinkled through. I think the masquerade-a big cosplay competition is a common event also. This is just stuff to DO at a con though...you really need to go and experience it. Typing this out makes it sound flat but trust me, going is amazing : )
