All we need now is the swan lake theme!

I love the way this makes me feel. Free, happy, at peace. For me, nothing better to see, than swans against a gentle blue. Beautiful!

Thanks! It's the shutter speed that gets the sharp shot. This was 1/1000 at 400mm. You always want your shutter speed to be at least what your mm is. So, when I'm using my 17-40mm lens, if I'm shooting at 40mm, I can get sharp shots at 1/40. But at 400mm, I need at least 1/400. I usually add more just to be on the safe side. I hate blurry shots!

Sorry for the late reply...was on vacation and now getting caught up.
If you were using a 75-300mm and you were at 75mm, you would want to use at least 1/75 second. But if you zoomed out to 300mm, you would want to be at 1/300 second.
Make sense?
It's not an exact science, and it also depends on how much you are moving and how much your subject is moving. This reference is mostly for hand-held of static scenes.
