Description Illumination for inside sleeve, above album text. For some reason, I am feeling that post-drawing let down sensation. Perhaps I spent too much time on it, or it didn't come together in the way I imagined. But I am very happy that I can now do rapidograph style work purely with the Chinese brushes. This work was painted literally with a single hair of the brush. It has taken a long time to get to this point. I learn slowly and methodically.

Brush and ink on paper. Original size 14x7 cm. Drawn at the size at which it will be printed.

A single hair? Just the thought of someone drawing a detailed piece with a single hair has me impressed.

The outcome is gorgeous!

I can see the difference resulting from using the brush instead of the rapidograph; it's an interesting change in texture - almost a softer feel, which one would expect from using a pliant brush versus the sharp point of a pen.

Perhaps it doesn't look exactly how you envisioned it in your head but the end result from an external point of view is amazing. Again with the geometric vs. organic; the overlapping circles and circumscribed hexagons give that overall feeling of order but with flowing lines, faces, and leaf-like veins to balance it out.

You have a great ability to create interesting variation in your works while superimposing your unmistakable style upon them.

That is really beautiful! Very nice textures and symmetry. I'm very impressed by the fact that you have the patience to do this with a brush with one hair. Wouldn't it be easier and faster to use the rapidograph? How much time did you spend on this?

beginning to even think of how much time, effort and pain went into painting that with one hair makes me want to kill myself

Mind Boggling. Completely out of the realm of my simple minded comprehension. Cripes.
