Sorry for my inactivity D: It's so busy at the moment, that I don't have any time to work on art stuff... .-. Or well, if I have it, I spend it on my possible cover, which will take a while to finish.Until last night, cause I was in the mood for animating stuff. This took me about 2 hours. I've been wanting to make an animation for a while, with a story attached to it. I've been trying to make it several times (traditionally, with black silhouets), but I always gave up on it. Now I want to make it in flash, with a tablet XD
So basically this is a flash and a tablet test at once :3
I finally start to understand how flash works, yay 8D
It's about 260 different frames so far .-. yes, I know... that's a lot.
My favorite part is where Tala starts to howl :> The dragon will be Lady's Saphiro.
I wonder if I'll ever get the motivation to ink all of this XD

I love your animations ^.^ wish I knew how to put moving ones on my Da but them again I'm rarely here...kinda pointless for me to be here XD could you give me some tips on making better shadowing for my animations at all? I use the program Gimp if that makes a difference.

this is far too choppy. there's no fluidity in the motion and the pauses/cuts are either to jarring or too static. you need to learn about how an object bounces or decelerates upon completed movement. the easiest way to convey this is simply draw over the final frame a motion in an additional keyframe and add 1 empty frame between them, showing to the audience that the movement had to slow down by the end. another thing you could definitely do is color in the frames so we don't have to stare at red lines constantly and guess what they represent.
as for the story (which seems to be absent) or concept, its fairly empty. there's no reason for the wolf. there's no reason for whatever water droplets fall on the ground/paw, and there's DEFINITELY no reason that he turns into a dragon. i'm really confused watching it because it screams pretense and vague ideas that have no focus, and even that is implied because i can't tell what goes on half of the time because of the incomplete art direction.
anyway, you need to improve drastically, or rather, you did need to improve. let's see what you've done since...

I think you need to calm down a little o-o I think you need a more open mind to this. I mean c'mon... Not everyone is REALLY good at animations, and plus I think you need to open your mind up to the story. The story does not matter. This Deviant does not NEED to improve, they will improve when they WANT to. I see a lot of people like this animation, as do I... But you had to go towards the logic, when mostly everything on deviant art has NO logic. xD

why wouldn't logic come into making a flash animation? art needs a level of logic in order to be meaningful, and when that level is absent you falter on the audience. that is to say being smart and having some level of intellectual value is important and has a positive effect on how you look at artwork.

Not everything has to be perfect for one, and for two some people like to have mysteries in some things or like to make it really cool. Like, in my art I make really weird things that defy logic. If anyone is like me, I do not have the most sane mind and I draw what is in my head. So, I suggest that you think about people who do not WANT to put logic into things, they just want to express really weird things.

I started it last saturday evening XD
Considering I had to study all sunday, monday and tuesday, and have school from 8:30-17:50 thursday and friday, and now having about 550 seperate frames, I think it went fast XD
