Very true! Born a Slytherin, died a Gryffindor's death. there is also one fact that most Severus-haters have overlooked: no Slytherin APART from Severus could produce a Patronus, because they were so full of hate. Severus was the only Death Eater (according to J.K. Rowling) that could actually do the Patronus charm successfully. That was BECAUSE he knew love, and had loved. The reason he hated Harry so much was because every time he looked at Harry, he saw Lily's eyes, and was reminded how he had failed to save the one woman he loved.Β

Not all Slytherins are Death Eaters.

Actually no, he died a Slytherin, which is a good thing. Yes he was brave, but he was a spy. He snuck around behind everyones backs, did the dirty work no one else wanted to do, and worked alone using his cunning and ambition to succeed as his motivator. So yes, he was brave, but unlike Gryffindors, he didn't run into battle head long with is wand waving like a lunatic. He died like a Slytherin, and that's a good thing.

lies! he risked his LIFE to spy for Dumbledore. if Voldemort had found out, he would've killed both of them on the spot. i truly believe Severus died a Gryffindor's death. anyone who says otherwise is a traitor.

So you are saying a Slytherin is not able to risk his life on behalf of others? Yes he does, but in contrast to a Gryffindor he is fully aware of all the possible outcomes. Should he choose to walk that path dispite the risks and consequences, he is even more brave than a Gryffindor.
I suggest you re-read the books. Prof. Snape was not the only Slytherin to die to die for the good cause.

HE DID NOT!!! It pisses me off so bad when people say that. Severus Snape was a Slytherin till the end. Slytherins can be brave, Slytherins can give their life for a good cause, not just Gryffindors. I find that rather insulting to say something like that to a proud Slytherin.

He died a Slytherin. And that's not an insult. Simply -- the gryffindor way to die would be throwing yourself in front of a friend to die instead or because they were first in the battle line. Something bold and possibly reckless.
Snape was brave enough to be Gryffindor. He has bravery that surpasses most Gryffindors, actually. But only a true Slytherin could have pulled off what he did, until the very end.
