Early Sunday morning, Kiana woke up to her alarm blaring in her ear, one of her least favorite sounds. Ki wasn’t much of a “morning person,” and it was apparent that Cujo wasn’t much of one either when he made a displeased groan from his spot on the floor next to the side of the bed where Kiana slept.
  “I know bud, I know. I just gotta get ready and then you can sleep all you want in the car.”
  Kiana decided to drive to Philadelphia instead of taking a plane. She not only had a fear of flying but had also heard one too many horror stories about things that have happened to dogs while flying. The drive would take just over a day, but since they were planning on sleeping at a hotel halfway there the whole trip would take almost two.
  After getting ready and packing the car, it was finally time to grab Cujo. Kiana called Cujo, “C’mon pup, let’s go for a ride!” Cujo didn’t know where they were going, but he happily obliged. The two walked out to the car, Ki opened up the door and the polar bear of a dog jumped in, tongue lolling out of his mouth and a smile plastered on his face.
  After a long, tiring trip, the two finally made it to Phili. “You ready for this bud?” Kiana said, holding Cujo’s face in her hands. He still wasn’t sure what was going on, but he was just happy to be with his person. Kiana was nervous, unsure of how the show would go as she had only ever done sporting with her dogs.
  The days leading up to the show flew by, and soon enough it was time to go. Kiana and Cujo drove to the show, and when they got inside the venue, Ki was in awe. Dogs and people everywhere. It was like heaven, but at the same time, it was intimidating. So many people who knew what they were doing, and then there was her. She took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves. It’s not like this would be live-streamed or anything, right? Haha…
  “Up next for the working group is the Central Asian Shepherd”... as the Announcer gave more information about the breed, Cujo and Kiana approached the judge. Kiana’s nervousness had disappeared and the feeling was replaced with exhilaration. The judge inspected Cujo, checking his mouth, feeling out his structure, getting in a good look at him. Shortly after the two were asked to take a lap so the judge could examine Cujo’s gait. They did as asked, and Cujo did a lovely job. Kiana couldn’t have been happier with how things were going.
  At the end of the show, the two drove back to the hotel. “You did so good Cujo, I’m so proud of you.” Ki said with a smile on her face, reaching back to pet Cujo. They explored Philadelphia for the last couple days of their stay, looking at historical sights and visiting cafe’s. Soon enough the two drove back, happy to be going home. They enjoyed the show and the city of Philadelphia, but it’s always nice to sleep in your own bed.
