I absolutely adore these two and their friendship (I love unlikely/odd/ friendships far too much for my own good). Seriously, their friendship is my favorite in all of MLP.
But if you ship them that’s just fine (I honestly don’t care what you ship, being mean to someone over fictional character’s love lives is ridiculous) I admit that I can kind of ship them at times, especially when I see cute fan art of them. I just prefer their relationship staying platonic.
While I do ship things and have OTPs, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a strong, close friendship. Just two people that care and love each other in a way that’s not romantic. You don’t have to be related to someone for them to be like family and I adore friends that become family to each other. Friendships often seem to be overlooked to romance in fandoms, (I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with romance, I can really enjoy a good gradual romance, just that it’d be nice for platonic relationships to get more attention) which is a shame.
So anyway, I love Fluttershy and Discord being super close, adorable best friends that are comfortable with each other.
draws some amazing art with them and portrays their friendship wonderfully in her fanfic Chaotic Netrual. She definitely inspired me to draw Fluttershy and Discord. She’s one of my favorite MLP artists here on DA so you should definitely take a look at her art if you already haven’t. ^^

This really made me feel a little better. It seems lately all I've been doing is defending my opinion to people who seem to think the only reason I don't ship them is because I MUST be a-sexual or something. (not that there's anything wrong with that, but to be told that MUST be why I don't ship them romantically is rather hurtful.)
I'm just so happy to see I'm not alone. And not everyone thinks everything I do with these two is wrong and "not good enough".

I'm really glad I could make you feel a little better. ^^ I'm sorry to hear that, I don't know why people would assume that you're asexual or something just because you don't ship them. Not everyone is going to ship the same things, but that doesn't mean someone is wrong. We all have opinions and it isn't right to try to force others to change it or insult others for thinking differently. You shouldn't have to defend your opinions. I understand why you don't ship them. They already have such a wonderful friendship that I don't feel it needs to be romantic to be meaningful. Friendship is just as important as romance. ^^
I don't think that everything you do with these two is wrong and "not good enough" at all. I honestly adore what you do with Fluttershy and Discord, your art of them always puts a big smile on my face. I always really enjoy looking at your art (and I loved reading your fanfiction Chaotic Neutral). I'm sure that there are other people who prefer their friendship too, so you're definitely not alone.

I definitely will be focusing on Discord and Fluttershy again 
I'm just letting the idea simmer for now. I have Comic Con to go to and I plan to start writing after July when I come back from the States
That's the one problem with writing long stories and being so involved with them @___@ it takes a lot of mental preparation and you can't just churn out stories like others who do it more naturally. Or maybe that's just me XD;;

Some people do churn stories out fast but there's nothing wrong with needing to take more time (it would probably take me a very long time to write what you did XD). They can be surprisingly tricky, that's okay my first attempts were really terrible. XD All I can say is that practice really helps, at least it helped me improve a little.
