Description

So there's another new product in the Daz store to support SBH. This time it's shaders that take advantage of the new Blended Dual Lobe Hair shaders for SBH and dForce Hair.

This hair is Retro Hero, a fiber hair product from RedzStudio. I chose it to fit the mood of the scene, but also because Redz hairs usually use three material zones. I used two different light brunette shaders on two of the zones and a bit more in-your-face orange on one for highlights. Unfortunately, the indoor lighting tends to tone down the highlights, but it still looks very real to me. (I swear I knew this girl in high school…)

Expect to see more portrait-like images using the "MMX Blended Dual Lobe Hair Shader Toolkit for Iray" as this thing is massive, and I'm having a blast with it! This one image barely scratches the surface of what it can do.

(Caveat: This works best with SB Hair and does amazingly with the multi-zoned fiber hair. Single zone fiber hair is probably not going to look this good, and even the PA says using this on trans-mapped hair is "hit or miss".)
