Description Maidstone, Kent, England, United Kingdom.

I went to Maidstone to do a shoot with a model, but she didn't turn up. So while I was waiting for her replacement to turn up I went for a walk.

HDR treatment done in Photomatix Pro 4.2. I did some fairly extreme sharpening.

I like how crazy the trees are for such and expected serene place. The sky looks a little odd, but so do the trees, and I like both of those things about the picture. I also like the theme of repetition. I don't like the yellow flowers in the field though, they are distracting. I also wish the dirt lines weren't filled with weeds, but hey, you aren't a gardener. The clouds are a pretty cool touch too, and I really like how this is unusual compared to all the "perfectly balanced" orchard pictures. Very interesting. I hope I helped.

The sky looks almost unnatural. I am not yet sure if it helps the picture or harms it. The clouds just look fake in a way, not sure if it is from the editing the angle of the shot or just the way they looked. I like though that you took the photo in between the rows of trees. I would have maybe found a different row though to take the photo so the trees look a bit more balanced(example the tree on the right looks a bit dead compared to the one on the left). Otherwise really good photo.

I did the HDR treatment in various different ways to see what I liked best. In the end I was just confused! In this one the over-sharpening etc emphasised the clouds, even showing cloud that wasn't visible to the naked eye (from what I remember).
I did indeed take photos in a different row. In fact I took so many photos of this orchard that I sickened myself and it's taken me this long to get round to processing any of them. I'm not sure why I picked on this one - having so many photo's probably made me bored of the more normal ones and made me pick a more unusual, unbalanced one.

A lovely shot with a really spring-like feeling. The sharpness works well, especially with the sky. Love the sky

Thanks. This variation of the photo has quite a white sky. I couldn't decide if it should be more blue or not.

Good old HDR. After months of rain we need HDR to enhance summer too (in UK anyway).
