Western? Why? 1) You're in Germany, how did you find a western saddle and 2) it's a Friesian.

Why not? It's comfortable for trail riding, she's actually trained in both Western and English, don't see the problem here. I ride her in both...

I meant no harm, I just was very curious how you found a western saddle. Last time I was in Germany, I was informed that there was only one barn with western riding in the area. Of course, we were riding Icelandics, not Friesians, but you get the gist. Good to know that she is versatile.

It's all good. There's all sorts of different breeds over here, and different riding styles. Over the last few years western riding really boomed and you can get everything for the style of riding just like the English equipment. And honestly western saddles are so much more comfortable for trail riding and a bit more secure

See, I was there last spring, and there were little to no western saddles to be found. :/ But I was raised in a western saddle, so I understand the comfort issue. Personally, as my riding has developed, I feel that english (or even bareback) are more comfortable, but it does come down to each rider's preference. Light on dark is a lovely contrast to be sure.

They have really high knee action, but once you're used to it, it's not that bad.

I'm currently taking German in school and I hope to go there over the summer in about two years! Even if I don't, I plan to go there one day when I'm older...maybe we'll see each other ;D hahaha
