Description This is a moment from the beautiful TES myth. Elven god Auri-El punished Lorkhan for disobedience and torn out his immortal heart. He pierced it with an arrow and launched from his bow. And at the place where arrow fell appeared the biggest volcano in Tamriel... So the new part of Nirn was created.
If someone doesn't know: Akatosh is a human version of elven Auri-El.
Damn, TES mythology is freaking awesome!

Hope you like it because I killed a lot of time for this big art and for details... So please watch in full size! ^_^

Not exactly true on the Akatosh part...see Akatosh ISN'T really a human interpretation of Auriel. Akatosh is more of an Auriel getting shoved into a metaphysical cage within Lorkhan's heart and being forced to act as a protector (Akatosh) rather than a destroyer (Auriel and/or Alduin) (elves viewed the destruction of the world as a good thing).
Official stories say that the Amulet of Kings is Akatosh's crystal blood, but in reality it's Lorkhan's crystal blood. By combining the roles of the time god and the space god, Saint Alessia essentially caged the dragon and forced it to act as a protector god of constancy rather than the unmaker god.

Akatosh a human god and a father of all dragons. Auri-El is an elven god and an elves didn't embodied him with a dragon. He's the god of sun and light and one of the first gods ever.
Human changed an essence of Auri-El and transformed him into god of time. I thought they actually created their own god and I don't even know why Auri-El and Akatosh considered to be the same god because I see them completely different...

Because even in altmeri creation myth auriel is still related to time

"Auriel bled through the Aurbis as a new force, called time"-Monomyth: Altmeri "The Heart of the World” [link]

Akatosh was always Akatosh Dragon God of Time. Lorkhan didn't exist until after the retcon.

Oh Lorkhan. Gotta love him. And thus Vvardenfell, perhaps the most arcane and pure place in all Tamriel was formed. And there the heart would beat in the dark of the earth for time uncountable by men, until unearthed by the Dwemer of old...
