Description This is my first ever realistic portrait of Rufus, my favourite character from JK Rowling's "Harry Potter" books.
I have had been planning to draw him almost an year ago, but I was always too busy, or just too lazy. Anyway, here he is, all in pencils, as a result of the long hours of hard work.

I always imagined Rufus as a man is his early fifties, who is still too darn hot (as Cole Porter would say ). So as a reference photo I used a pic of William Fichtner, agent Mahone from a well known series "Prison break" [link] . Because, hell, for the first time I saw him I thought that he would be a perfect Rufus (though he's not a British actor, but screw it, I'm not directing a movie )...! I also added him some extra features to show him more "in character". But I did not want to hide his eyes behind any glasses, so they are absent in this picture.
I hope that William Fichtner's fans won't kill me for that...

OMG, I love both William and Harry Potter. So to have in Harry Potter, would've been awesome (though like you said, he isn't british). And very perfect drawing. He would've looks so sexy, he he.

Thank you very much for your kind words It's an old drawing, nowadays I'd probably be more capable of capturing William's likeness. Nevertheless, I'm really glad you like my version of Rufus.

hell, I can never draw anything remotely close to that. I've tried for years to be a good artist and I suck (even all those 6+ years in art class in Junior High, High School, and a little bit in elementary. I just suck at free range if I don't have a tutorial to go off on, lol. So you should be quite proud of yourself with this.

Wow, great! Funny, I recently saw "Deathly Hallows, Part 1".
When I saw this drawing I thought of the character right away!
Interesting cuz you were imagining a different actor...

I have drawn this portrait years ago, when no one had a single idea who will play Rufus in the movie.
I haven't seen "Deathly Hallows" yet and though I'm not very convinced about Bill Nighy being cast as Rufus, I just hope that he did a good job when it comes to his acting skills. ^^

He does not a appear much in the film. I though the movie was alright, though some scenes drag on.
The actors' performance is quite good though. The scene's opening sequence is intense!

I was expecting that he won't have a big part. Well, I shall judge after watching the film. But I have mixed feelings, after all it's the same director of "DH" who screwed up "OOtP" and "HBP". Ah well. ^^

Very well drawn, I admire such talent you've expressed into this!! Absolutely wonderful texture along with fine toning, the image clear to see with well-shaded outlines. The creativity is great as intended, and I am impressed with this!! Well done, 10/10 of course!!

The way the art itself flows with such a formality that causes passion to overflow through my body when I see this...it's breath taking...Well done indeed and this was without a doubt considered as "Art". Not to mention overall it's such a wonderful inspiration this drawing gives me! So detailed along with a great moral sense of value, delightful scenery added with details beyond mere words! I truly value this a lot, very well expressed and high quality into the characters themselves. Even an interesting touch of some vivid coloring.

Hmmm, Christopher Lee is a great actor but personally I think that he's a bit too old to play Scrimgeour.

Too old, yes? But, I never pictured Rufus being a young man. Then again, neither is William, though I pictured Rufus being around Moody's age.

I never pictured him young either. About 50 years old, I guess.
Though it isn't precisely mentioned how old he was, so I think that everyone can have a personal "vision".

Ogromnie cieszy mnie, że moja wersja Rufusa przypadła Ci do gustu. I wielkie dzięki za fava! Muszę się przyznac, że napracowałam się jak diabli... ale chyba było warto, bo to właśnie taki Rufus, jaki od dawna tkwił w mojej głowie.

Nastęny w kolejce do portretowania w ołówku jest mój tajemniczy Tadeusz...

To fakt, jakiś czas temu wspominałam Ci, na jakiej realistycznej postaci opieram moją "wersję" Rufusa. Chociaż serialowy agent Mahone jest bezwzględną postacią o potwornym charakterze, więc z Rufusem łączy go praktycznie tylko wygląd.

A co do portretu T. ... Oby nie zszokował Cię Jego wizerunek.
