Once upon at time in a land far, far away, there were these amazing shells where the insides were of colors close to this.  Little squares could be carefully cut from these shells, all of various shades and textures, a very small hole placed in a strategic location and all strung in various formations, showing of each individual piece of shell.

OK - now -   This is so beautiful and the coloring of the little squares do remind me of shells. One time in distant past I use to make very simplistic jewelry using shells I gathered on Assateague Wildlife Refuge at Chincoteague in Virginia. I still have some of the shells the last time I was there in spring 2005. Love that place too much.
