With the blushing; doesn't real blushing actually make the entire face red not just the cheeks? So it would kinda be more realistic to make the entire face go redder instead of just the cheeks?

that's true!! blood rushes mostly to the cheeks (and ears) though, and when women wear 'blush' make-up it's usually just on the cheeks so I kept it to that XD An entirely red face in a drawing might be kinda cute, though..

I always though that the nose that point upwards in the second example might belong to a pig species, despite that I also did that mistake XD.
Some manga artists (even professionals) draw piggy noses.
I just hate the side mouth.

Ten years?!
Yikes. It took me about 3-4 years. I can't imagine taking that long to improve...

I seem to have a talent for drawing, where I got it from though, god only knows. I try not to brag though. People don't like braggers.
Yep. That is true. Even know, I'm improving.

Profiles. Noses. How.
These two kill me every time. I don't go over-the-top on the big eyes or non-existent chins, and I'm getting better with the big foreheads. But the nose. I just can't.
This is gonna keep me going for a while. Thank you.

I see myself there, somewhere in the middle. I'm stuck on profiles and noses but I'm trying refrences(multiple) and tutorials. This one can really help me over time. Still, good job! You've had a lot of progress!

Hehe, it's good that you can find what you personally want to improve on! Yeah, I haven't drawn much recently, I'm gonna get rusty!! D:
Thank you >3<

Hmm I have a feeling that this is more of a "how to draw perfect anime girls and boys" .. Which is ofc nothing bad.
But you can give an OC big eyes or a thin neck or maybe huge ears and a big whippy nose.
It's all about symmetry and proportions that are in balance with eachother. If you look at the movie "up" for an example, that old man is far far faaar away from the 'normal' proportions, yet everybody recognizes him as an old man with proper anatomy.. It's all about can you make it work/look good or not? I love how you point out that you need guidelines, because you DO need them for every style, wherever it's manga or disney, realism etc.. But if you got the guidelines right, you can make everything like you want it!
Anyway, I understood that this is a tutorial for the manga style, which doesn't have much room for creativity when it comes to body/face proportions (No that's not an insult to all the manga fans out there! xD Just a simple fact, nothing wrong with it, it's not a bad art style!). In manga there are way more 'standards' that all the characters have, so you did a good job on this tutorial, congrats!
P.S. Excuse me for my English, it's not my mother tongue xD

Oh no, there are lots of artists with a manga style that's I love (check out *elsevilla as an example) but if someone who has just started drawing from 'How to Draw Manga' tries to draw a person they won't look accurate. If that person looks at lots of photos of real bodies and practices drawing realistic faces first, they'll get better a lot faster, and THEN they will develop their own style, manga, cartoon or realistic.
Your second paragraph sums up what I am trying to do XDDD

Well, if you read your tutorial carefully, you'll see what I mean. If your native language is not English, then I think we see the problem.
