Description I'm not good enough for these influences to be apparent in my work, but when I can't think of what to draw I can just check this.. XD

A. Oh My Goddess, one of the first manga I read, and I still read the new ones. Fujishima's art improved drastically over time

B. Obata's work in general.. Death Note, Hikaru no Go, Hello Baby..

C. ADVENTURE TIME for the absurdity and hilarity!! And I like the bendy limbs

D. Gorillaz, I just like what's his name's style. All skinny and detailed, haha.

E. Kingdom Hearts and Squeenix.. It's why I draw eyes how I do.

F. Tim Burton!! and Colleen Atwood who does most of the costumes.

G. Benjamin.. Such a cool style..

H. Yana Toboso draws so pretty..

I. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Evangelion.

J. and K. These were what started me drawing in an anime style.. Now I'm trying to get away from that, but I cannot be denied that these were huge influences!!

Fuu, all done.

A. I've never bothered to watch nor read Oh! My Goddess due to its rather low score on MyAnimeList: [link]
Should I disregard that and read it anyways?

B. If you ask me, he draws a bit indifferent from other artists and mangakas... Just my two cents though.

C. I might need to watch Adventure Time sometime too >.< Along with Naruto...

D. I used to digg Gorillaz back in the days. Now, not that much. I've got like 1 or 2 songs from them in my library... Their art style is unique though

E. Another thing I'm missing out on and need to catch up to... >.>

F. Same as above.

G. Wow. Nice! Where's this from?

H. Wazzat?

I. Evangelion FTW!

J. Well duh. Who hasn't been influenced by PokΓ©mon?

K.

A. Well it's easy to read, it has pretty drawings, and it has it's funny parts XD It's up to you O_o

B. I have his artbook, and envy his colouring skills.. He's also very good at realism. [link] <- I really wish I could colour like this.. He just uses markers!!

C. Yes, it's good

D E F, ja ja.

G. [link]

H. Kuroshitsuji! XP

J and K.. My childhood favourites, don't facepalm Cardcaptors!! XDDDD

A. Hmm... Sounds like Sun-Ken Rock, which I'm currently reading. Btw, I must recommend this one one-shot by Boichi, the guy writing Sun-Ken Rock, "Hotel" . It is the most acclaimed one-shot rate on MyAnimeList.net, and I have nothing to say against it at all. Absolutely nothing that I can come up with. It's a one-shot though, so I don't think you'll find it in your local manga shop. You can read it here though

B.Wwowooooooooooww....... o.o That's sick! And with naught but markers too!

C. I've got too much that I need to watch/play/read/experience!

D E F, hi hi

G. This man. He is not human...

H.

J and K. But... But... Cardcaptors looks so wannabe-moe... I HATE () wannabe-moe and failed-moe shows. (If you wanna know what I mean by "good moe", watch Angel Beats! and look for the character named "Kanade Tachibana".)

*bookmarks* I will read it later

B. Yes. Now you can see why he is my favourite manga artist? XD

G. He does depressing comics, that's how I discovered him.. I think it was called Orange.

H. Y U NO like Kuroshitsuji so much?

J and K. I began watching them when I was.. 6 or 7. They seemed wonderful at the time XD
Hmm..

A. It's 40 pages long... Talk about procrastination to a whole new level

B. Indeed I do! And I guess he's the one who inspired you to try your hand at markers, eh?

G. I KNEW I had seen that style somewhere before! Orange ! It's a one-shot manhua. I've had it on my "Plan to read"-list for about a year now...

H. B CUZ Kuroshitsuji is just plain fanservice for girls. I've watched 10 episodes of it, and can do nothing but confirm it.

J and K. Of course they did: "moe" wasn't in your vocabulary and you hadn't seen anything like it before, so it wasn't "cliquΓ©" *knows the feeling* But (the original) PokΓ©mon will always stay fresh though

Well yeah XD If you handed me the book I'd read it straight away, I'm not a fan of reading online..

B. Uhh, well partially, he made me want Copics rather than the cheap, squeaky markers I've had since I was little..

G. Yeah, that's the one. Bump it up the list!

H. Hahaha yes, God knows why it's classified as shonen. Wow, 10 episodes? I've seen.. 3? XD

J/K It was the only anime they showed at the time, and I was fascinated I have the first season of Pokemon, I can't help thinking how repetitive and shit it is but I still love watching it.. XD

It's not available in book-format, unless you search ebay or possibly amazon. *quick search* found it: [link]
It's "a little" expensive though And it's untranslated... And used... Good luck!

B. Improvement after that?

G. And his other works are there too: the dude himself

H. The 3 first are neat, yes, but once you hit 7 and onwards, you start to notice everything's just repeating itself...

J/K. PokΓ©mon was the first Japanese anime to have been aired in Norway, shortly followed by "Digimon". Now Norway gets whatever's on Cartoon Network too though

No no, I will read it eventually.. XD

B Yes, no more streaks

H Aww.. Well I still wanna watch it, but the DVD set is expensive..

J/K orly? Bleh, Digimon.. Didn't you get Dragonball too?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

waran4 In reply to lady-leliel [2011-07-07 23:22:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... Right...

B. "streaks"?

H. TORRENT, GURL!

J/K. Digimon was like "the new PokΓ©mon!" back then, and gained more popularity than PokΓ©mon. We've never gotten Dragonball due to it being too dirty... >.> Screw our socialistic government influencing our television!

Btw, I gotta ask: what do you do from approx. 2PM to 6PM? I've noticed this is the time you are less active here on dA, but I can't see any reason you'd leave your precious computer at all (t'hurrhee )...

o.O Example?

Yeeeeeeeess! >.> Come to think of it, I've never read "real" manga, tbh. This might be the reason I'm so torrent-positive.

Well my mum is home most of the time, and she doesn't like me being on the computer for so long.. (Many, many times she has tried to get me onto just an hour a day, but it has never worked because there is nothing else to do). So I tend to be online when I first get up (and she is either working or sleeping in) and then get off early afternoon.. Then get back on in the evening when my parents are watching TV and will possibly forget that I am sitting behind them on the computer.. That was a long answer. And just a little weird that you would notice what times I am less active XDDDD

Example of streaks..?

Whoooa, that's weird

Wow... Your mom is just like mine (except that mine's gone to the lengths of forcing me to sleep in the guest room, away from my computer (which is in my bedroom) because she suspected I was up late at night playing games. (I have had occasions (multiple occasions...) where I've been up to 2AM on weekdays on the computer, but I never play games that late (it doesn't work out: I need to be at a LAN and have energy drinks ). Most of the time, I actually chat with you And the rest of the time I watch anime She might have a somewhat decent reason for making me sleep in a separate room, I guess But it has never deterred on my performance in school though, so I don't really see the reason for sleeping more than 4-6 hours per day... Yes, I tend to fall asleep in class (quite often), but that happens regardless of when I fell asleep, and I never get any remarks at all! My grades are among the top of the class too (which isn't entirely such a difficult feat to accomplish...)

Yes, link me a picture of an example of "streaks". This is all I can find: [link]

Really? How do you think it is for people in North-Korea regarding anything Western?

HAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHA
I find that funny. If you couldn't tell.
Well our pc is in the lounge, so I can be monitored XD
Well it's good that your grades don't drop

Uhhh, remind me tomorrow and I'll do an example..

I forgot the subject.. oTL

waran4 In reply to lady-leliel [2011-07-08 12:35:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the sympathy

My mother does these random samples by just barging into my room unannounced. Luckily, I can hear her walking outside my room, giving me time to switch from a partly shady manga (like the aforementioned Sun-Ken Rock, for example) to something "normal".

Alright. Wait, your "tomorrow"... Wouldn't that be my "late at night"?

Strange that I haven't read a physical copy of manga... You need to eat more almonds! They're supposed to help your short-term memory (I think... Might've been something other than almonds though...)

Btw, now I've started noticing how many times per post I use an ellipsis, "...", in comparison to the regular period, "."...

Hahaha.. Sorry XD

LOL I see.

Blehh, just when you're awake! I stayed online pretty late last night, that's rare for me..

It is!
Almonds..? Slightly ironic that you forgot what kind Though I guess that would class as long-term memory..

I use '...' a lot as well... Oh dear.. Now I'm going to be aware of it! STOP POINTING THINGS OUT!! T_T

waran4 In reply to lady-leliel [2011-07-09 00:35:02 +0000 UTC]

You stayed up to something Γ‘ la 12AM, right? Btw, you told me to remind you of something about 12 hours ago, but I can't remember what it was... ALMONDS!

I don't know whether almonds help both your long-term and your short-term memory, but it's ironic to some degree nonetheless, considering almonds supposedly helps your memory in some way

Now I've ruined both of our days once more...
