Princess Twilight Sparkle try to use her amazing power and the elements of harmony to experiment more on the crystal. But she don't expect what happen next. Sometimes Ponies try to discover and explain too many things and don't really think about the consequence of their studies.

First, she didn't realized what she did. the crystal she work on don't react after her experiment. she let it in a corner of her office and continues different researches. But after many years she discover the crystal react to some metal, it can make metal piece moves when in contact. It was particularly fun with metal powder. But apparently nothing useful... Until the crystal try to communicate with her....

She then discovered this little piece of crystal was a sentient life form. The discover completely ruins her. She experimented on living things ! She immedately write to the other princess to ask them advices and reveal her huge mistakes. the princesses luckily soon learn that this crystal was apparently the only sentient one. The other were just crystal, really sensible, but just piece of inanimate fabrics.

Twilight, afflict by her fault : sta.sh/01f4m8hdkd7g

The crystal was considered has a non-pony people and a group of royal scientist was formed to communicate with him. The crystal, now called Winston after he understand the pony concept of gender and choose his own name, was really different than any species they know. They try to explain concept that were clearly not from earth. The communication was really difficult because of this huge difference of knowledge and way to thing. Plus Winston learned the pony language by observing Twilight and as to work way more before being able to communicate without a language barrier. He most of the time "speak" in morse code with a machine that translate it in letters. It's the most easy for him.

Winston stay with the scientist during two years before they all were able to understand a little what happen to him. He was a abstract living form from...somewhere else. Nopony discover where yet. But apparently he was removed from his original place by the experiment of Twilight. confuses, suffering and unable to understand what happen to him, Winston was trap in the stone. This pure spirit needed lots of time to handle with this physical form and even more time to start learning pony language. The princesses purposed him to integrate the ponies society until they all find a way to help him return in his world. He happily accepted, if joy can be a understable concept for him, and finally choose to be part of the equestrian royal Skyship because it remind him a little of his past as a floating spirit like things. And this is own he become a living Zeppelin with Silver Fang as a captain and Running steam as a mechanic to help him to control that gigantic metal body.

Sort of colored sketch. It was a light practice too. Not really happy about hox it turn, but that can be worst. And I don't spend many time on it, zoo I guess it's okay ^^

I used to work only on tradtional as well, so I totally get what you're talking about. And it's a shame ! Traditional art is amazing and I respect you a lot to manage to make such quality artwork, traditional art is so hard and resuqests so much efforts and precision, it's unfair it is considered that way. keep up the good work, I love what you do !

But digital art can be great and hard to do too. I personaly like both equally ^^
It's just surprising me to see people apparently only wanted digital. I'm enter in some art exchange and most of participant say "no traditional art please", but I see some trad piece being better than digit. So, I don't get it XD

Yeah I do like both too, but I think traditional deserves more consideration, some pieces are indeed better than some shitty digital art there is pfffbt, and it's a shame people don't want traditional, seriously why ? Hhh ;^;

Kind of?

I mean, you...RUSHED through the story here. It was SO sudden! Suddenly a rock is sentient! A bunch of mages try to communicate with it! And they do it! It is called Winston...for...some...weird reason? And it is male!

That would have been enough narrative for several of these short chapters, and you made it into a single one.

Well, not really a story, more something like lots of infos I have in mind since the beginning of this account. I just never take the time to write it. The illustration is more a little funny add so your true, I clearly rushed it. But I choose to do it.

Umm...how explain... I don't want to make a real storytelling about this. It's going to be too long and I don't want to work on it for now cause I prefer draw my mane three. I'm not into making a comic or an illustration books about it, it's more like a piece of background. Plus I don't post all my draw about all of this in a proper order XD
Winston was already in my first submission ^^

But I understand your confusions because I don't take the time too properly explain all of this with a lot of different draws. I could maybe do it in the future. Or maybe not And all of this backgronud is still a work in progress. I will probably change many things in the next month, developps characters, find better relation between the differents part of the story...

For me this part is not the important one for now. it's more like a sort of crappy introduction before i show you some bodies prototypes for Winston. Steampunk robot pony ! Yeah !

Eeeeh...honestly then, you could have just skipped to your intended target. Right now, it is really confusing.

You could have just introduced those bodies as...precisely that. Steampunk bodies.
