The current event over at #PKMN-Crossing is that the entire town of Pokette has turned black and white and very reminiscent of the old Rickey Rattata (Mickey Mouse) cartoons.

I had had a go at doodling Brunhilda in the old Steamboat Willie sort of style the other day, though I took a lot more inspiration from Minnie Mouse, so she had shoes and eyelashes and was smiling. All wrong. Brunhilda doesn't look like herself unless she looks a bit annoyed. And of course, hands on the hips. So when I finally had a chance to sit down and draw it with my tablet I changed a few things and much prefer the result.

This was a nice event to be able to take part in, because working in black and white makes things so much quicker to get done, which is great because I have almost no time with job interviews and post grad interviews which require presentations and helping out at the local primary school. Busy busy busy.

I liked my background, despite its ridiculous simplicity. I thought I almost got the pencil look down, though it looked better when the file was bigger. Ah well. I referenced it from a still from Steamboat Willie (only minus some bushes and, ya know, the boat and water).
